Welcome back! Here are some highlights from the past week.
My column this week discussed the lunacy of Democrats' self-righteous gaslighting of the public with all their talk about how they—and they alone—are the true guardians of "Our Democracy" in America. In the column, I detail all the various ways that Democratic officials and left-wing activists across the country have themselves severely undermined and discredited pillars of American democracy. Specifically, Democrats have been engaged for years, going back at least as far as the 2018 Supreme Court nomination of then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh, in an unprecedented systemic assault on the legitimacy of the U.S. Supreme Court as a (lower-case "r") republican institutional bulwark. The reason for this focus on the Court is simple: The Supreme Court is one of the only major institutions of American political, cultural, and civic life not wholly dominated by the Left at the present time. What's more, the bombshell recent preliminary injunction ruling in the Missouri v. Biden government-Big Tech collusion censorship case reveals just how anti-"democratic," illiberal, and terrifyingly anti-free speech the Biden administration and modern Democrats really are. The idea that Democrats are the true guardians of "Our Democracy" is simply risible.
I have had two podcast episodes since my last newsletter was released. First, I was delighted to have on Judge Amul Thapar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit to discuss his recently released book, The People's Justice: Clarence Thomas and the Constitutional Stories that Define Him. We had a wide-ranging conversation about the life and jurisprudence of Justice Thomas, whom I strongly believe is our greatest living American at this time. We also concluded our conversation by discussing the current state of originalism as a methodology of constitutional interpretation. Having a sitting federal appeals court judge sit for an interview of this nature is rare, so I would strongly encourage everyone to go ahead and give the full episode a listen. (You can listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts here, and on Spotify here.) Second, I recorded a solo epiosde where I did a deep dive on the massive Missouri v. Biden preliminary injunction in Louisiana, addressed the debate as to whether the U.S. should support Ukrainian membership in NATO (spoiler alert: no), and discussed the recent attempts by progressive media to cast skepticism upon President Joe Biden in a seeming attempt to derail his smooth path to the Democrats' presidential renomination. (You can listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts here, and on Spotify here.)
In terms of other media hits and appearances over the past week: I recorded a CenterClip audio op-ed on Israel's overdue counterterror operation in the terrorist hotbed of Jenin, joined "Mornings with Maria" on Fox Business to discuss the bombshell Missouri v. Biden censorship case and Democrats' renewed threats of court-packing, joined the "Dinesh D'Souza Podcast" (with guest-host Brandon Gill) to break down the Supreme Court's recent affirmative action decision and other favorable SCOTUS rulings, joined "Eric Bolling The Balance" on Newsmax to discuss the escalating tension between Meta's Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter's Elon Musk, joined "O'Connor Tonight" on Salem News Channel (with guest-host Doug Blair) to discuss CocaineGate at the Biden White House and the Right's possible ways out of our two-tier system of justice, joined "Jenna Ellis in the Morning" on American Family Radio to discuss the Missouri v. Biden vindication of free speech, joined "John Bachman Now" on Newsmax (with guest-host Bianca de la Garza) to discuss President Biden's obvious personal shortcomings and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's recent bow-seen-round-the-world in China, joined "Tipping Point with Kara McKinney" on One America News Network to discuss present rifts in the GOP and how they may play out in 2024, joined the St. Louis-based "Mark Reardon Show" to discuss recent judicial developments redounding to conservatives' interests, and (as always) co-hosted the two most recent productions of the Edmund Burke Foundation's weekly "NatCon Squad" podcast (both of which have been released since our last newsletter).
Our additional highlighted right-leaning Newsweek op-eds from the past week include selections from Ilya Shapiro, Daniel DePetris, Gil Troy, Hiram Sasser, and Jonathan Tobin.

Programming Note: I will be off next week. I am looking forward to an eight-day trip out west (which will have already begun by the time you read this) to Utah and Wyoming. You can expect this newsletter to return on Wednesday, July 26.
